ARTIST PARTICIPANTS:
Unity serves as a fundamental principle of design that integrates all components of an artwork, thereby fostering a sense of cohesion and visual harmony. Through the strategic application of repetition, proximity, and continuation, artists leverage unity to direct the viewer's attention and convey a unified message.
The notion of 'unity as interpretation' posits that harmony, coherence, and meaning are not essential truths awaiting discovery, but rather, they emerge as a result of actively applying interpretive frameworks to a divided world, thereby creating a sense of unity and meaning.
Unity in life is achieved by discovering purpose through interconnectedness—aligning one's internal identity, creating bonds with the community, and acknowledging one's position within the broader cosmos. With these discoveries one redirects focus from isolated individuality to harmonious coexistence, yielding profound meaning through shared objectives and a sense of completeness.
